The Crash

Car sinking My car slammed into the traffic barrier, breaking the metal into shreds. I find the water below approaching fast. The bumper touched the lake, and swallowed the car whole. My body flung backward on the impact. Knocking the wind out of me. I stopped and caught my breath, watching my car slowly sink deeper into the dark obsess. My throat itched, begging for air. I kicked harder, faster. Working for the surface with everything I had. My last breath left my body, I watched the bubbles float up as I exhaled. I can't make it. I sucked in, needing a breath. Water filled my lungs, and my body overflowed with pain. I gulped and gulped, still searching for air. My eyes started getting black spots, I watched black close in from the sides of my eyes. This was it, my last second, my last breath, my last thought, my last moment. I was going to die, and I can't stop it. My body floated lower, hitting the sand. My hand slipped over the slimy seaweed and brushed against it. It was black, everything black. I wish I told...
